These purses are made with silk or soy silk fibers. I dye the fibers before I begin, then lay the fibers out, criss crossing the fibers, as in wool felting. The major difference is that I lay a piece of netting atop the fibers, then dab in and soak the fibers with a glue mixture. When the fibers have dried, i have a flexible, strong "cloth", which I cut into the desired pattern. I then heavily stitch the fabric, then sew it together.
